Thankyou Georgia Lapping and Keiandra Lowery

Oh my god! Its only a week until my exams and I still have so much to do. Assignments, job applications and revision. How am I going to fit in all in?”

Does this sound familiar to You?

At this time of year , particularly if you are in your final year of uni , you might be finding things overwhelming. The uni holidays are almost over and you thought you still had loads of time left until the exams, but assignment hand in and exam dates have suddenly become a lot closer.

What can you do if you’re feeling like time is running out?

STOP and take a moment to get your head straight! Stop panicking you just need a few good tips .

My top tips

  1. Organise – My top tip whilst revising is to do a plan. Writing down can help get stuff out of your head. Set small goals and then reward yourself when you achieve them.
  2. Get outside – Do not sit at your desk, table, lie in bed all day whilst revising. Get out into the fresh air – particularly nature – not only are getting exercise but you are connecting to something other than your laptop! It doesn’t have to be for long even 10 minutes away from your studying is enough to clear your head.
  3. Sleep – I know its tempting to continue studying way into the night but don’t. Sleep is really important , its essential for good mental alertness and processing of your day. Its amazing what gets stored after studying.
  4. Meditation – Try a short meditation. If this seems weird, yes I used to think so too, be open to it and notice how it can calm you down.
  5. Chocolate – Yehhh a big plus! Researchers ahve found that eating dark chocolate, the good one that contains more than 70% of cocoa, counteracts the stress hormone, cortisol. It seems to have a relaxing effect on the whole body. In addition, the chocolate allows to release endorphins that act as natural contrast to stress.
  6. Talk – Talk to your friends, parents, dog or whatever if it makes you feel better.
  7. Distraction – STOP PROCRASTINATING. Turn off your mobile, social media is the biggest distraction, they are a waste of your revision time.
A short 3 minute meditation to help calm you.
Good Luck….

Finally good luck. Remember this moment in time will be gone soon and you will have taken the exam and wondered why you worried so much.
